Great park with pond, great for runing late at night durning that summer time; provides that nice fresh breeze. Very well maintained. Fishing is allowed. Park is sort of secluded which makes it great and not over crowded. However parking is limited.
By far McAllen s best park. Not the biggest but what you get u can't beat in the small package. The pond fishing alone
Great park it has a location.. Some people might say it can get ghetto but we are in the valley and well cant expect it to be just certain people to use the park.. The whole point is for people to go and enjoy themselves and the surroundings... Supper clean and kept up park. The bike and paddle boat rentals and a plus like all things sometimes its a bit pricey but they have to maintain and have the things available when needed...
It's alright. There's some shade, but a lot of it is an open expanse with a pond in the center. I say pond because calling it a lake would be overkill, as much of the height has evaporated away over time. I go there to fish, along with many others, and I think the fish count is so low that I rarely see anyone get a bite. Also, don't go without headphones considering traffic noise. The park is located smack next to Business 83 and Second St.
Great park at the corner of 2nd and old 83. Wish the rentals were available during longer hours. You can rent canoes, paddle boat and bikes here. The park is clean and well maintained.
