Needless to say, don't be surprised if you're over gross if you show up with a full load of fuel. You might want to plan on showing up with a 1/4 tank like we did and expect to refuel more frequently at first. The other options are to hang out wherever you scale your load long enough for the necessary amount of ice to melt and drain from your trailer, or ask this shipper to remove a pallet. It wasn't that big a deal in the end. We made it to our receiver on time still, and we really only needed to get to western LA before we were already light enough to add up to 145 gallons of fuel (from 1/4 tank) - which itself easily got us to our next scheduled fuel stop.

Slow

2. My booked weight was 43500, but no weight was given on the BOL. I'm sure glad I showed up with only 1/4 tank of fuel available (2x 100 gallon tanks). After we billed out and were about to leave, another driver from the same company as mine told me about how her co-driver got them all the way up to Houston before she took over, scaled her load, then realized they were over gross. I was planning to fill up at the Love's just north of town and scale in there, but I decided to beeline straight to the Road Ranger about 6 miles away instead, just in case. I'm glad I did, because I scaled in the first time at 79860. Mind you, I can normally take up to about 45500 and have full fuel and normally be at or below 80K. So, I was technically legal, but only had 1/4 fuel available and only enough room to add another 20 gallons to that. We took the load as is, with instructions to plan on refueling more frequently than normal. We refueled just SW of Corpus Christi, scaling in first so we'd know how many gallons we could add and stay below 80K. I took over later and eventually refueled again in Iowa, LA - again scaling before refueling. This time my weight was down to 78980 with about the same amount of fuel I left this shipper with. So, where did that extra 1100lbs go? It turns out Eagle stuffs each of the cases with crushed ice, and they also put a bunch more ice on top of all of the palletized sets. We leaked water/melting ice out the drain holes of our trailer all the way from this facility to our receiver in the Richmond, VA area.

Now the bad part:

1. I needed to use the restroom. I was told it was by door #1. The door to what appeared to be the restroom there was locked, and I had no idea if anybody was even in it. I asked if there were any other restrooms nearby and they said another was available by door A (which belongs to the other shipper using the same building). Turns out, the other restroom was a accessible from the outside of the other shipper's building. I walked in and it was pretty beat up looking. Worse yet, no toilet paper was available (which I was going to need). Also, the paper towel dispenser was empty, so no way to dry my hands either.

Slow process no clean rest room dirt parking lot

First the positive: I got a dock door assignment immediately after checking in. I didn't have any issues with the shipping office staff either.
