Great pairs of shoes, great customer service from staff. Store was clean and well organized. Also got socks and a belt!
I still cannot believe that I, myself, am taking the time to write a review. I normally don't do this, but I had such a bad experience at the Clarks store in La Plaza Mall (McAllen, TX) that it has brought me to sit me down to write. First of all, I've always loved Clarks because of its exceptional quality in footwear. The product is not at fault. The service, however, was just plain bad. Having worked in retail sectors for many years I cannot believe the amount of indifference and "attitude" I received from the sales associate & the manager as well. If I had been a secret shopper I would have reported back to corporate with a capital "F" for failure, and and a mayor F for well, you know what I mean... It almost felt like a personal attack against me when I asked a question about the shoes, when I asked for a different size or a style (I still bought the boots which I love and wear almost every day) but I was very close to not making any kind of purchase from the employees, just to avoid them. The young lady's I'm-better-than-you complex was higher than her heels, and the manager falsely attested to me in a manner of argumentation that he had indeed suggested a pair of boots that he never mentioned and that I later found on my way out the store. Just as I was stepping away from the register towards the door, I jumped and looked back at the register to find that the same young lady had yelled at the older woman who was standing behind me in line to pay. I recommend Clarks as a quality brand, but lacking outstanding customer service. I went to Buckle where I spent way more on a single pair of boots, and where they had exceptional customer service.
