Clean, not so busy airport , also servers as port of entry, not much to expect. No much facilities such as resturents or shops. Helpful staff in immigration and around. Lyft and uber avalible along with taxi.
One of my favorite airports! The wait time to go through security is the shortest I've experienced. Staff is very polite and friendly. Easily accessible to the Metro and very reasonable long-term parking rates.
This is a very easy airport to get in and out of. I fly all over the continental U.S. and I'm glad to have such a hassle free airport nearby. At times the security lines can be long but for the most parts it not much of a issue. It has limited shops and food once you go beyond the security checkpoint so plan accordingly. You will find a Coffee Zone and a snack shop called Explore McAllen. The airport also offers plenty of seating that includes plugs and USB ports to charge all your devices. WiFi is also available.
The airport itself I really like. Short lines, cozy airport. What I don't like is getting groped there 5 out of the last 6 times that I've flown out of McAllen. I fly out of Las Vegas wearing the exact same outfit (on purpose) and I have never been groped. Not once, nor in any other airport. In McAllen, the machine always thinks I'm hiding something in my crotch area and so I get the groping of my life almost every time.
The region's fanciest looking airport. Service here can range from excellent to mediocre, to downright inadequate depending on who is checking in baggage. TSA has been well behaved with us. I fly American most of the time flying in and out of the valley.
